Apresentação do livro Wiley Handbook of Paulo Freire

 

No dia 17 de setembro de 2019, pelas 17h30, decorrerá na sala 250 da Faculdade de Psicologia e de Ciências da Educação da Universidade do Porto a apresentação do livro Wiley Handbook of Paulo Freire, publicado pela Wiley-Blackwell em julho passado (ISBN 978-1-119-23676-4, 624p.).
 
Na sessão estarão presentes o organizador do livro, Carlos Alberto Torres, Distinguished Professor do Departmento of Educação da Graduate School of Education and Information Studies da University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Ana Elvira Steinback, da Universidade Federal da Paraíba, e Luiza Cortesão, Presidente da direção do IPFP, membro do CIIE e autora de um dos capítulos do livro – "Paulo Freire, Working in and from Europe”.

50 years after the publication of his masterpiece, Pedagogy of the Oppressed, this book brings new perspectives on rethinking and reinventing Brazilian educator and philosopher Paulo Freire. ABOUT THE EDITOR
 
"Carlos Alberto Torres is Distinguished Professor and former Director of the UCLA-Latin American Center. He is the Founding Director of the Paulo Freire Institute in São Paulo, Brazil; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and UCLA. Dr. Torres has been a Visiting Professor in universities in North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. He is also the holder of the UNESCO UCLA Chair on Global Learning and Global Citizenship Education, Department of Education, UCLA; and is a Foreign Fellow in The Royal Society of Canada (also called the Academies of Arts, Humanities and Sciences of Canada), and a Corresponding Member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences."
