This book includes the abstracts of the papers presented at the 1st EXPRESSA International Seminar “Re-imaginar a Comunicação Científica em Educação” [Re-imagining Scientific Communication in Education], which took place at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto from 21 to 22 June 2017, under the responsibility of CIIE's KIDE (Knowledge, Innovation and Diversities in Education) research group. The material also includes a foreword by Professor Amélia Lopes, a text of the lecture by Professor Ana Paula Caetano, entitled “Vozes e sentidos à procura de forma” [Voices and meanings in search of form], and a reflective memoir about the processes of elaboration and development of the EXPRESSA movement.
The first edition of EXPRESSA valued proposals from researchers, students, teachers and other professionals in education or related areas, who were willing to present their work through dynamics capable of challenging communicative organisation, namely in the Spiral, Whiteboard and Storytelling modalities. The EXPRESSA Seminar was a space for experimentation and challenge for those willing to re-imagine scientific communication in education with us.
