CoPIn PIV invites you to attend an exhibition & workshop on 13 May at 5 pm in room 251, curated and mediated by Manuela de Castro.
It's an invitation to take a journey through Aurélia de Sousa's painting, her life and her secrets - the difficulties she experienced in becoming a Woman Artist at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century, inviting participants to self-reflection by experimenting with drawing what they see in the mirror.

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
Manuela de Castro was born in Porto.
She studied Languages - Translation - French in Antwerp, Belgium, where she lived and worked in mediation at the Diamond Museum in Durbuy. She studied Art Pedagogy at the Nextart School - School of Fine Arts in Lisbon, Theatre at ACE - Academia Contemporânea do Espetáculo (School of Arts in Porto), Drawing, Painting and Ceramics at FBAUP - Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, and is currently attending a Master's Degree in Educational Sciences, in the field of Artistic Education, at FPCEUP - Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto.
She is the author and trainer of several art education projects, two of which stand out - Um novo olhar - Uma nova obra (A new look - A new work) and currently Quem desenha quer pintar (Who draws wants to paint), which promotes skills through art education (drawing, painting and ceramics) in the development of children and young people, in a school and museum context in partnership with institutions of cultural, social and educational relevance. These include the Soares dos Reis National Museum, Cooperativa Árvore, Fundação da Juventude, public schools (all pre-school and primary schools in the municipalities of Maia, Valongo, and Vila do Conde), and public schools, including the Colégio Alemão do Porto, Colégio Nossa Senhora de Lourdes, Externato das Escravas do Sagrado Coração de Jesus, Lycée Français International de Porto, etc. She also teaches a Visual Arts Course - Painting and Ceramics - for children at the Porto Utopia Arte & Ideias School.
