NEW DATES | Until 30 June 2020

The Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCEUP) and the Centre for Educational Research and Intervention of the University of Porto (CIIE) are promoting the 1st SemEAR - Seminar on Anti-Racist Education on 29 and 30 September 2020. 

The 1st SemEAR will be a forum for these discussions, namely based on four main axes:

1) Racism in educational and academic contexts;
2) Memory and decolonisation of education;
3) Anti-racist intervention in the school and/or community;
4) Teacher training and anti-racist education.

This event is aimed at
Higher education students, researchers, teachers from different levels of education, other educators, activists and the community in general.

Important dates:
- by 30 June: deadline for submitting abstracts
- by 31 July: communication of the results of submitted abstracts
- by 10 September: deadline for registering for the Seminar and sending proof of payment (where applicable) for participants (with or without presenting a paper and including free registrations)

Rules for sending abstracts:
This should be up to 300 words long and should be sent on the registration form in the appropriate field HERE and in Portuguese, Spanish or English. It is advisable to include information on i) the framework of the question to be presented; ii) the methodology of the study carried out; iii) the main results found. The author should also identify the thematic axis of his/her work, namely: 1) Racism in educational and academic contexts; 2) Memory and decolonisation of education; 3) Anti-racist intervention in the school and/or community; and 4) Teacher training and anti-racist education. Each participant may submit up to 2 abstracts.
