The Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCEUP) will host the event “Lines for Palestine – Rebuilding Trust: How Universities Should Support Education in Times of Crisis” on 21 November 2025, starting at 10:00 a.m. in Auditorium 1.
This initiative aims to create a space for reflection and dialogue on the role universities can play in supporting education, rebuilding trust, and fostering solidarity in contexts affected by crisis and conflict. Bringing together academics, students, and representatives from civil society, the event will highlight the realities of higher education in Gaza and showcase ongoing collaborations connecting the University of Porto with Palestinian partners and students.
As part of this event, a special film screening will take place two days earlier. On 19 November 2025 at 22:00, Vícios Bonfim (Largo de Soares dos Reis 24, 4300–096 Porto) will host the premiere of “Lines to the Future: Gaza–Porto Connections”. This screening will present seven short science fiction films created during the current period of conflict, as part of a collaboration between students from the Islamic University of Gaza and the University of Glasgow.
The official language of the event is English.
