The Sports, Education, Communities Observatory (ODEC), part of the CIIE, is organising the II International Meeting on Sports, Education and Communities: An Appeal for Democracy, which will be held on 23 and 24 May 2024 at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCEUP).

The event aims to celebrate the second year of ODEC's work. This year, with a special focus on the 50th anniversary of April 25, one of the central themes will be Democratisation in Sport. 

It is also a seminar that reinforces the four thematic axes of the Observatory for Sport, Education and Communities - Sport, Education, Health and the Environment - in a close symbiosis that emphasises the socio-educational value of sport and its potential to transform communities in terms of belonging, inclusion and social justice. Inclusion, the democratisation of sport, social responsibility and ethics are some of the main topics on the agenda.
