On 7 Feb 2025, the fifth session of the Open Lab Talks will take place at the CIIE. This is a cycle of weekly meetings, held on Fridays, in which two PhD students and/or researchers from the CIIE present a work or research project they are working on, followed by a discussion with those present.
Applications are always welcome from researchers and/or students who would also like to present their work at future sessions. The schedule considers the registration order, which should be sent to ciie_secretariado@fpce.up.pt.
The fifth Open Lab Talk, speakers will be Jurema Gando, a PhD student, and Thiago Freires, a researcher.

Speakers
THIAGO FREIRES is a researcher at the Centre for Research and Intervention in Education (CIIE) of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCEUP). He holds a PhD (2019) and a Master’s (2011) in Education Sciences from the University of Porto and a Degree in Languages (Portuguese / English) (2009) from the University of São Paulo. In the last years, he has integrated several inter/national projects focused on the internationalization of teacher education, youth trajectories, citizenship education and technology-based innovation. At CIIE, he is one of the coordinators of the Community of Research Practices (CoPin) IDEAFor – Identities, Democracy, School, Administration and Training. He is also a member of JEDI – Young People, Education, Diversity and Innovation CoPin. He currently coordinates two projects: MIIT – Mapping Internationalisation conceptions and practices In Teacher education and the Erasmus+ Teacher Academy SmartStart. He has collaborated in advanced training in the area of Education Sciences in curricular units of research methodologies, scientific writing and themes related to public school, teaching work and justice in education.
