Olena Iamroz at the CoPin PIV Cycle of Debates

The CoPin PIV - Inclusion Policies and Voices: Diversity, Gender and Intersectionality invites you to attend the discussion with Olena Iamroz on 15 April at 4.30 pm in room 120.

Olena Iamroz is a researcher in the Doctoral Programme in Pedagogy at the University of Inland, Norway. She has experience in policy analysis, translanguaging and second and third-language education, with a focus on multilingual and multicultural education. Her research explores the intersections between educational policies, second language acquisition and the social and educational inclusion of Newcomer Students (refugees, migrants, asylum seekers) aged 16-24 in Norway.

As part of the Cycle of Debates, this session will address structural and systemic challenges as well as potential opportunities in the provision of education for Migrant Newcomer Students (EMRC) aged 16-24 in Norway. Critical issues such as barriers to social and educational inclusion, language acquisition and various obstacles within the Norwegian education system will be explored. It will also provide an opportunity to explore how power dynamics within educational systems and institutions influence inclusive practices and shape educational opportunities for EMRCs. In this regard, aspects such as curriculum development, social inclusion frameworks, assessment methodologies and collaborative efforts involving key stakeholders will be emphasised in order to improve EMRC educational experiences.

We hope we can count on all of you at this session!

Our voice matters!

Best regards
