In this meeting, we will dialogue about the life and work of the writer, poet, activist and reference in the feminist, LGBT, black movement and civil rights struggles: Audre Lorde.
It will be a time to reflect on "women responding to racism" (Lorde, 1981) and the use of anger as a tool for transforming silence into language and action.
We will articulate Lorde's ideas with other important authors such as Cida Bento (Pacto da Branquitude), Sueli Carneiro (Dispositivo da Racialidade) and Grada Kilomba (Memórias de Plantação), as well as stimulating critical reflection, intersectional dialogue and the strengthening of subalternised identities, with a view to building a fairer and less violent society.
