EACEA's approval for new international collaborative study with CIIE - BE PART project

Congratulations to "BE PART - Youth-Led Development for Schools’ Participatory Management" Project Team who has been successful in securing a EU-funded KA3 Erasmus+ Programme grant, on a call launched by EACEA on support for policy reform ("Social inclusion and common values: the contribution in the field of education and training" Action). This project (No. 612175-EPP-1-2019-1-PT-EPPKA3-IPI-SOC-IN) will encompass a partnership between MentorTec – Serviços de Apoio a Projectos Tecnológicos (Consortium leader), CIIE/FPCEUP, Escola Pia Luz Casanova, and Escola Secundária de Paços de Ferreira, from Portugal, the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and Action Synergy, from Greece, Platoniq Sistema Cultural from Spain, and Valmieras Pargaujas sakumskola from Latvia.

This new project, with 36 months duration (starting in December 2019), aims to develop, implement and evaluate an innovative participatory youth approach in regular schools, fostering inclusive education while promoting citizenship competences and youth empowerment, especially among students with disadvantaged background. The innovative participatory youth approach that will be designed in the project relies on 5 main concepts: Youth-led development, models of youth participation, co-creation, Project-based learning and youth empowerment. These concepts will assure the innovation on the promotion of the acquisition and development of students’ civic competencies: i) Interacting effectively and constructively with others; ii) Thinking critically; iii) Acting in a socially responsible manner; iv) Acting democratically.

At CIIE this project is coordinated by Carlinda Leite, comprising also Angélica Reis Monteiro, Amélia Lopes, Preciosa Fernandes, Amélia Veiga, Mariana Rodrigues, and Rita Barros (as postdoctoral research fellow).
