BootStRaP project publishes article in Comprehensive Psychiatry

The BootStRaP project recently published an open-access scientific article in the journal Comprehensive Psychiatry, presenting new data on problematic internet use among adolescents, based on a study conducted across 9 European countries with over 2,500 young people. The work highlights the importance of understanding the emotional motivations and self-regulation processes associated with online behaviours, going beyond simply measuring screen time.

The research involved the participation of researchers Teresa Silva Dias, from CIIE, and Célia Sales and Carolina Cordeiro, from the Psychology Centre of the University of Porto (CPUP), as part of an international team funded by the Horizon Europe program.

The study uses an innovative real-time assessment approach to adolescents' daily lives, contributing to the development of knowledge with scientific and social impact.
