The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) recently released the provisional results of the external evaluation of R&D Units (UID) 2023-2024 under the Multi-Year Funding Programme for R&D Units. In this evaluation, the Centre for Research and Intervention in Education (CIIE) of the University of Porto was once again recognised for its innovative research activity of recognised merit and quality, being classified as “Excellent” for the second consecutive time. In the qualitative assessment, CIIE was highlighted as a "highly active research centre that has an impressive record of successful accomplishments over the period of evaluation". "The panel was very impressed with the Centre's strategic approach in the development of its future plans and in its ambitious goals for moving forward."
In addition to the good result, CIIE also obtained the highest amount of funding of all the research centres in the field of Education Sciences.
Created in 1988, CIIE is an R&D unit funded by FCT and based at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto. CIIE is a reference institution for research in the field of Educational Sciences and its mission is to develop, disseminate and disseminate knowledge on key educational and social issues and to develop educational intervention devices aimed at social justice, equity and inclusion.
