Co-funding of six permanent positions for the CIIE Final results of the FCT-Tenure call

This month, the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) released the final results of the FCT-Tenure Competition, a funding instrument to support the hiring of researchers for permanent positions in FCT's scientific employment funding model. At the national level, 1,104 career positions (research or teaching) were awarded in all scientific areas to 71 contracting institutions.

For the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto, the 11 positions initially recommended for funding were confirmed. Of these, six were awarded to CIIE (and the Department of Educational Sciences), specifically two researcher positions and four teaching positions:
2023.14305.TENURE.014 – Assistant Professor of Adult Education and Lifelong Learning, CIIE, FPCEUP
2023.14305.TENURE.016 – Assistant Professor of Educational and social mediation, CIIE, FPCEUP

2023.14305.TENURE.021 – Principal Investigator of Citizenship education and groups in situations of vulnerability, CIIE, FPCEUP

Recruitment for the two researcher positions is currently underway, and the remaining four positions are expected to open soon, reinforcing the scientific employment plan and the capacities of the CIIE and the Department of Education Sciences at FPCEUP.

FCT-Tenure is a model for co-financing scientific employment in Portugal. The duration of this co-financing is up to a maximum of 3 years for each position allocated in the teaching career and up to a maximum of 6 years for each position allocated in the research career, corresponding to two thirds of the equivalent of the salary costs of each position in the first 3 years for both careers, and one third in the second three years in the case of the research career.
