Isabel Menezes as Keynote speaker at #ReconnectingEERA week

Despite the cancellation of the 2020 edition of the European Conference on Educational Research (ECER 2020 at Glasgow), focused on "Educational Research (Re)connecting Communities", due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the European Educational Research Association (EERA) organised #ReconnectingEERA week in August 2020, a week of online activities.

The programmed Keynote speakers for ECER 2020, Joyce L. Epstein, Ramon Flecha, Isabel Menezes, and Riyad A. Shahjahan, were invited to give a keynote speech at #ReconnectingEERA week, with pre-recorded presentations on Youtube.

Ramon Flecha, Isabel Menezes, and Riyad A. Shahjahan also took part in the #ReconnectingEERA Keynote Panel "Reconnecting communities", hosted by Joe O'Hara, the EERA President, and Stephen McKinney, from the University of Glasgow, on Friday 28 August, 16:00 CET (Berlin Time). This keynote panel concluded the week of online activities organised by EERA and the EERA networks.

The keynote of Isabel Menezes, Full Professor at FPCEUP and Director of CIIE, was entitled "On the Significance of Connecting and Dissenting for Political Education: An ecological-situated view of schools as communities within communities".
