We are pleased to announce that the new website for the journal Educação, Sociedade & Culturas (ESC) is now available at https://www.up.pt/revistas/index.php/esc-ciie and is hosted by the University of Porto's Journal Hosting Service, based on the Open Journal Systems (OJS).
ESC is an academic journal with scientific arbitration, open access and multilingual published by the Centre for Research and Intervention in Education (CIIE) of the University of Porto.
Created in 1994, it aims to contribute to developing the education sciences, deepening its scientific field by disseminating empirically-based research based on diversified theoretical and methodological frameworks capable of dealing with traditional and emerging educational issues. It is founded on an intentionality that seeks to establish and deepen the dialogue between cultures and interdisciplinary perspectives, contributing to qualifying the public debate around educational and social problems.
ESC accepts submissions of original work on empirically supported research with a theoretical-methodological solid component. Submissions must fall within the scope and mission of the journal and be relevant to an international audience. The journal accepts submissions in Portuguese, English, French or Spanish and does not place limitations on conceptual and methodological perspectives. Without prejudice to this plurality, authors must ensure that inclusive and non-discriminatory language is used when submitting an article.
The journal publishes thematic and non-thematic issues and permanently accepts free-theme article submissions.
Published articles are subjected to a rigorous peer review process based on anonymous scientific arbitration (double-blind peer review).
Publication in this journal is free of charge for authors, and there are no submission, processing, publication costs, or fees.
