On 23 May, the ROOTS project took part in the Encontro Desafios Jovens | Cross-Border Showcase, held at the School of Business Sciences of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, in Valença. The event, organised by the Portuguese Institute for Sport and Youth (IPDJ) and the National Federation of Youth Associations (FNAJ), brought together more than 100 young people and a wide range of youth organisations.

The team present included Sofia Marques da Silva and Marta Sampaio from CIIE, as well as Irís Santos and Mariana Cardoso from ARMA-Sci (Armamar Scientific Capital Promotion Network), one of the partners in the ROOTS project.

Throughout the event, the team ran an information stand, promoting dialogue with young people and the participating organisations about the objectives and work carried out within the scope of ROOTS. Participation also included a public presentation of the project, in a space dedicated to sharing and debate.

The Encontro Desafios Jovens is part of the Desafios Jovens project, funded by the Interreg VA Spain–Portugal Programme (POCTEP), whose main objective is to foster the creation of quality employment opportunities and improve the future employability of young people in cross-border regions.
