The industrial and services sector in Portugal employs around 23 per cent of the workforce, making it an important sector for the national economy. However, to ensure competitiveness, modernisation and internationalisation strategies are needed, especially in terms of digital transformation. The systems developed must be flexible to support the paradigm shift from mass production to mass customisation, but always keeping workers, their productivity, job satisfaction and health at the centre of attention, so that the digital transformation is sustainable. The proposal is to develop tools for analysing exposure data at work, based on the concepts of Positive Ergonomics, Operator 4.0 and Eurofound's Job Quality Indices, by collecting/visualising data on the physical environment, work intensity, working time, social environment, skills and discretion, career prospects and earnings.
