The School & Job Matching Handbook was developed within the project UP2B – Boosting Up School Education towards European Citizenship and Labour Market Inclusion (2019-2022 | 2019-1-PT01-KA201-061346). It is a handbook for the use of teachers (parents and other tutors will use it as well) and students, matching several school subjects with possible professional occupations requiring them. This tool, shaped in an appealing design, intends to elucidate students about the question they permanently ask themselves “why do I need to know this for…?!”, and so showing how important and, at the same time, how funny, it can be to learn so many diverse subjects, whatever subject might be, as in real life and outside school such subjects represent required knowledge. Thus, knowledge for the sake of knowledge is also approached as an important decision tool for daily life, effectively empowering students. The handbook intends to be cross-sectoral sensitive, namely concerning gender equity, environmental protection, social inclusion and other domains.
