The project ‘‘Equity&PISA: Equity through PISA: results and discourses’ is funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (grant no. PTDC/CED-EDG/2124/2020; doi:10.54499/PTDC/CED-EDG/2124/2020) and is being carried out by the Centre for Research in Education and Intervention (CIIE) of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Porto, under the responsibility of Gil Nata and Tiago Neves, and with the full-time collaboration of Ekaterina Enchikova (Postdoc Researcher) and Cibelle Toledo (PhD research student). The project also includes the participation of Rui Trindade, Joana Cadima and Sofia Marques da Silva. In addition, the project's consultants are Clara Barata and Francesca Borgonovi.
The ‘Equity&PISA’ project aims to explore the relationship between countries' participation in the OECD's Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) and changes in levels of educational equity (relating to socio-economic issues). The main objectives include understanding whether participation in PISA has contributed to improvements in educational equity, assessing the impact of national educational policies and analysing the perceptions of educational stakeholders on the relationship between PISA and equity.
At the final seminar, various speakers, including media representatives, teachers, academics and policy-makers, will share their reflections and contributions on the project's final results. The first session will feature Cristina Mota (Missão Escola Pública), Paulo Prudêncio (Blog Correntes) and Isabel Leiria (Expresso newspaper). The second session will bring together António Teodoro (Lusófona University), Vitor Teodoro (Lusófona University) and Luís Capucha (ISCTE-IUL). And the third session will involve three former Ministers of Education: Maria de Lurdes Rodrigues (ISCTE-IUL), David Justino (NOVA FCSH) and João Costa (NOVA FCSH).
