A new session of the Open Lab Talks will be held at the Centre for Educational Research and Intervention (CIIE) on 4 July 2025, starting at 4pm. This session, which takes place in room 120 of the CIIE, at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCEUP), will feature José Bronze and Daniela Pinto. José Bronze, a student on the Doctoral Programme in Educational Sciences, will present the work “Mobilidade Erasmus+ em Escolas Profissionais: Efeitos em Alunos, Professores e Escola” [Erasmus+ Mobility in Vocational Schools: Effects on Students, Teachers and the School], as part of his doctoral project. Daniela Pinto, researcher at CIIE, will discuss “A Observação entre Pares como Estratégia de Melhoria Educativa" [Peer Observation as a Strategy for Educational Improvement]. Following this, there will be a space for debate with those present on the presentations.

The Open Lab Talks are a series of meetings organised by the CIIE in which two PhD students and/or researchers from the CIIE present a piece of work or research project they are working on, followed by a discussion with those present.

Applications are always accepted from researchers and/or students who would also like to present their work at future sessions.

Speakers

José Carlos Bronze is an FCT research fellow and a PhD student in Education Sciences at FPCEUP. He has a degree in Sociology and a specialised master's degree in Power and Political Systems, both from the University of Évora. His professional career has been spent as a researcher, coordinator and evaluator of education projects in schools, Non-Governmental Development Organisations (NGDOs), service and consultancy companies and higher education institutions. He has coordinated and evaluated transnational projects in various countries in Europe, Africa and Brazil. His research interests are social inclusion, human rights, socio-emotional skills, digital literacy, vocational education and training, and European education policies and programmes.

Daniela Pinto is an integrated researcher at CIIE - Centre for Research and Intervention in Education, where she collaborates in OBVIE - Observatory of Life in Schools. In 2021, she completed her PhD in Educational Sciences at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto. As part of her PhD, she carried out research into the transition processes between secondary and higher education. She has worked as a researcher in the areas of higher education, pedagogy, pedagogical supervision and self-regulation of learning. She collaborates on various research projects and works with educational institutions and their communities as a teacher trainer in pedagogical supervision and peer observation.
