Special Issue | Education, antiracism and decoloniality: Tensions, resistances, and possibilities

Guest Editors:

Su-Ming Khoo, University of Galway, Ireland
Maria Elena Indelicato, University of Coimbra, Portugal

This issue brings together a set of articles that critically explore anti-racist and decolonial educational practices in various contexts, addressing issues such as curriculum, public policies, pedagogical practices, everyday resistance, reparations and marginalised voices. The articles consider different levels and modalities of education - formal, informal and non-formal - and contribute intersectional and transdisciplinary perspectives, focusing especially on non-dominant contexts.

Issue 70 of ES&C also highlights the importance of recognising the role of the Global South not just as a geographical location, but as an expression of subaltern epistemologies and experiences.
