On 29 October, the Foundation for Science and Technology, IP, announced the provisional results of the 3rd edition of the Individual Scientific Employment Stimulus Competition (CEEC Individual), which ended in February 2020.
Three female PhD researchers from CIIE who applied for this competition have had their applications approved for funding, meaning they will sign employment contracts to develop their proposed research plans over the next six years within CIIE.
Researchers Teresa Silva Dias and Angélica Monteiro will be hired in the "auxiliary researcher" category, having been the only candidates approved in the Education Sciences panel category. Researcher Marta Sampaio, first in her category in the same panel, will be hired as a junior researcher.
Also, with CIIE as the host institution, in the previous edition of the competition, Gil Nata, as an assistant researcher, and Cosmin Nada and Norberto Ribeiro, in the junior researcher category, were selected for funding, and their work contracts started recently.
In the 1st edition of the CEEC Individual, Carla Figueiredo was the only CIIE researcher approved and recommended for funding, in her case, with a junior researcher contract under the competition above.
The CEEC Individual, promoted by FCT, is aimed at doctoral graduates with a background in any scientific field who wish to develop their scientific research activity in Portugal, in a research institution as the host institution. Each candidate selected in one of the four categories is directly contracted by the host institution for six years, with funding from the FCT. The competition is open annually, and the 2020 edition should be launched in December.
Congratulations!
