Marta Sampaio at C-Days 2025 | Cybersecurity Education in Primary and Secondary Schools

On 25 June, Marta Sampaio attended the C-Days 2025 event, promoted by the National Cybersecurity Centre (CNCS), which took place at the Estoril Congress Centre. Her speech was part of the round table dedicated to ‘Cybersecurity Education in Primary and Secondary Schools: opportunities for training’, as part of the national study on this area and the C-Academy initiative, which aims to develop training activities specifically geared towards primary and secondary school teachers.

Topics such as teacher training, the integration of cybersecurity-related content into teaching practices, the role of families in students' digital literacy and the importance of public policies to consolidate a culture of digital security in schools, particularly among young people, were debated. The round table was also attended by Berta Baptista (Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto - ISEP) and Daniel Pereira (CONFAP - Confederação Nacional das Associações de Pais), and moderated by André Silva, from CNCS.

The starting point for this panel discussion was the Study on Cybersecurity Education in Primary and Secondary Education in Portugal, published by the CNCS Cybersecurity Observatory and developed by a team from CIIE, under the coordination of Marta Sampaio and Pedro Ferreira, with the participation of Amélia Veiga, Carla Figueiredo, Mariana Fonseca and Susana Pena.
