This project was designed to respond to this mismatch, counteracting some of the effects of the ageing of teachers, reversing the vicious circle identified and transforming this ageing into a potential for curricular innovation. Its aim is to enhance the relationship between the curricular agency assumed by teachers and educational practices mediated by mobile technologies. The innovative nature of the project lies in re-signifying the professional experience of teachers over 50 in order to promote the renewal of their commitment to teaching and curricular innovation, mediated by the use of mobile technologies.
From a methodological point of view, this is a project that combines research with intervention and training for primary and secondary school teachers.
ReKindle+50 aims to diagnose, monitor and evaluate the change in practices, in what we call digital migrations, and their sustainability in the short and medium term. It brings together two training centres that have been actively involved in the "Classrooms of the Future" project. It also brings together a team of researchers from two Portuguese universities who share research and intervention on the main topics that the project mobilises: teacher training and professional development, curriculum agency and the interstitial dimension of mobile technologies in this management.
Despite these commonalities, the research problems that the team members are interested in are diverse and will allow the project to be given the complexity that the subject deserves and that is, for everyone, a challenge that is both scientific, pedagogical and ethical to investigate the potential of the relationship between the professional development of older teachers and the use of mobile technologies and their effects on the effectiveness of curricular action. The expected results of the project will be manifested in the digital migrations that the teachers involved are capable of and their effects on their professionalism. The project will also have wider institutional and political effects.
